Custom Aluminum CNC Parts: RFQ Guide

Prepare an aluminum CNC machining enquiry with alloy grade, finish, drawing and quantity requirements for prototype or low-volume parts.

State the alloy grade

The existing CNC catalog lists AL6061 and AL7075. Specify the required grade and condition rather than only writing aluminum. If substitution is acceptable, explain the functional requirements and request confirmation.

Describe interfaces and finish

For a housing, bracket or machined interface, mark threads, mating surfaces and critical dimensions. Specify the desired finish and cosmetic faces. Ask for the proposed finishing route to be stated in the quotation.

Quote prototype and repeat quantities clearly

If you need a prototype followed by a small batch, state both quantities separately. Identify whether the drawing is final and which acceptance checks apply to the initial part and the repeat order.
